The bill was sponsored by the chairman of the senate committee on women affairs
Senator E.Uffot â€"Ekayte."
Maybe it just me but the only public nudity that I have seen have been from the mentally handicapped. I am guessing these guys cannot catch a break. Imagine someone just jeje-ly and rora-ly trying to have a conversation with the sun or bag of pure water and then they get locked up for six months...
The joblessness of some people amaze me. I then found this somewhere:
"The whole scenario is quite disturbing considering that this malady, called fashion, has turned out to be a breeding ground for many other societal malaises like sexual promiscuity, rape, prostitution, spread of sexually transmitted diseases, armed robbery, cultism and occult activities including a litany of similar other vices which have now assumed disturbing proportions.Of course. I am very glad that this wise man (we know no woman could be intelligent enough to write this sort of article) added armed robbery to the list. Many people today forget that the main reason why armed robbers come to a house, is not to get away with cash or cars, but to enjoy the delights offered by the madam of the house as she lies in her bed invitingly in her flimsy night dress."
Uhhhhhhhhhhh... I think the portion in bold text was supposed to be humorous...I hope, because my alarm will know no bounds if people blame pyjamas for the sexual abuse of women in their homes.
Mrs. Ekaette, I will do my best to communicate to the toddler that was raped by the houseboy that it was because her diapers were too sexy. And the girl whose father has been raping her since she was eight, that she needs to dress better. HIV will from now be treated with a steady dose of cotton fabric wrapped all over the patient; exposing the leg will bring pneumonia. I am not even sure how you will eradicate cultism with clothing restriction and I cannot wait for your policy on how you will deter people from visiting that "Baba-in-Ijebu/Offa" for the juju they will use to blind their "enemies".
Men, I am off to catch an hour of sleep joo. This is why I cannot be a politician because I would be one of those people that will tell someone how I know that their combined IQ with that of their ancestors is less than one.

first, i think. i'm supposed to say: yay! so, yay!
i'd add that some of those may have bought their iq's from these internet universities...
…yes Miss Catwalq!!
Salutations sista!!...Top marks for your post as usual…Sincerely hope that we as Nigerians realise that it is such preposterous and borderline neurotic ideologies that continuously make it apparent that our law makers are complete jokers (sanitized version of preferred word)…Even more depressing and absurd is the fact that the bill was sponsored by the chair of the senate committee on women affairs…
…Sista! Admirations for your efforts cannot be over emphasized…do keep it up!
Peeeeeeeeeeeaaacccccceeee!
C!!

Lol @ telling people that their combined IQ plus that of their ancestors is less than one...

I guess it doesn't take much to see that this bill does not make much sense...but I'm not going to let it affect me. I just pray they don't arrest innocent people (by mistake).
and i live here too.
i dont believe they passed this shit. all the scorned politicians' wives are getting back at the entire population. what utter bullshit.
you couldnt have said it better. i wish saying it was enough to make a difference though.
but to enjoy the delights offered by the madam of the house as she lies in her bed invitingly in her flimsy night dress."
so u can't even dress flimsy in ur own bed? pshew!
oh! and the nudity is so the cause of bad roads too!
lmao!! That's all.
You can just tell that people have 'time' on their hands.. Iranu gba!
my sista dont bother urself with them
IQ ke? ibo ni won ti fe ri? na just balck space
I sincerely don't know when we got to this unfortunate pass.
A few months ago when the Lagos state Police Commissioner started this madness, we thought it was isolated act of misguided zealousness/zealotry but obviously this thing has deeper roots than we think. Its part of a concerted effort to achieve what, we know not.
It even follows the same logic as the Lagos PC's Theory of Crime Reduction: 'Armed robbers steal so that they can give to/provide for their girlfriends who wear scanty clothes. Arrest the scantily dressed ladies and the armed robbers will have no reason to steal anymore'. QED. Talk about intelligence.
The part that scares me is that nobody has yet defined 'nudity' within the context of their so called bills.
What exactly constitutes nudity? How much flesh must be shown to be 'nude'? I sincerely doubt if our extinguished Senators consider that.
Besides, there is so much focus on the 'nudity' part of the bill that nobody is talking about the 'Sexual Harassment' aspect. Stiffer punishment for nudity, what about sexual harassment?
Pray, is Ufot Ekaette a woman? Thot it was the former SFG.
Well done jare Cat.
LOL!!! Catwalq, You are so crazy. Cracking up here...
But seriously, when will society stop blaming women for its ills.
Neanderthals...the bunch of 'em
It's no surprise why a lot of their decisions shows that they've got their heads where it shouldn't be.
Sorry to read down there you was ill. Gosh, I din't even know. I hereby drop my badge as I tend to be unable to carry out my duties as expected.
have a good weekend hon!
xx
Absurdity parades as normal in Nigeria every day.
Sad...very sad. My heart weeps for our country.
pure stupidity...in fact, naija people should all decide one day to walk the streets completely naked...men, women and child, in protest...let them arrest and jail all of us...yes o!...i would surely fly home to parade around the streets naked to prove to them the inherent stupidity of such an act...
...instead of focusing on real issues, they waste time passing nonsense laws and bills...making the most absurd of corrolations...rubbish people...
* g-nigeriana - let me know when you intend to do this so i can come take some photos
i smelled a little tint of man-hate in the part about how women are too intelligent to write that stuff... lets just say the writer is just an exceptionally retarded specimen of the male gender, his daftness should not be used to judge sensible males (like moi of course, LOL!).
If we ask him, its probably the nudity of the females that makes him and his friends in Govt to embezzle money too. they go "OMG!, look how scantily clad that girl is, i think we need to go fap some govt money to buy water to wash off our eyes!!" Raving Idiots!! trying to mess the rep that responsible naija males are trying so hard to create, both at home and in the diaspora.
Only God can deliver nigeria...
the bit abt armed robbery and raping women in their houses because of their pjs is actually unbelievable! so people shld dress like egyptian mummys, wrapped up 4m head to toe to prevent rape in their own homes????
Jinta: congratulations, ore mu owo re wa....
The IQs: u r so on the money
Consciousness: My sister/brother, u talk am correct...
Olamild: na real wa
Jaycee: that prayer, I am afraid is futile because before you know it, that is what will start to happen.
Geisha: sometimes it is so frustration and annoying feeling helpless with your issues...
Bumight: apparently so
Rayo: when the police catch you for "exposing" your cleavage, then you will tell them u are LMAO-ing
Akin aworan: o so be e....
Darkelcee: how can't I? this thing is giving us a bad rep internationally. We have not been reported as passing one single properly conceived bill that benefits the people....
Nimmo: I too was amazed at how sexual harassment got thrown somewhere and short skirt got front stage abi is it center stage ni won pe?
Pamelastitch: when women stop accepting the blame.
Yosh: sweet, u're leaving me? *sob*
Naapali: but should we not all be tired of that by now?
Ablackjamesbond: Nna here is kleenex. Join the line
G-naija: am so down with the march...but I need to work out first o. am not unleashing somethings on an unsuspecting public.
Jinta: Mmn-hmnnnn?
Incognaija: I think you need to circulate the memo on what defines a respectable naija man...most don't have it.
efjay: I guess that is what the writer was intimating
